Top 5 Film & Television Apps in Europe Q1 2022 Performance

In the first quarter of 2022, the top five film and television apps on a unified platform in Europe displayed a range of trends across weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Netflix saw its weekly revenue peak at approximately $1.6M in the last week of February. Weekly downloads showed a downward trend from over 1M at the start of January to around 608K by the end of March. Active users initially declined from 58.4M to 48.9M, but showed a slight recovery to around 49.4M by the end of the quarter.

Disney+ experienced a fluctuation in revenue, starting at $4.9M at the end of December and ending with a peak of $5.8M in the last week of March. Weekly downloads decreased from 794K to around 455K. Active users saw an initial decline from 18.9M to 14.4M but recovered to 16.7M by the end of the quarter.

Amazon Prime Video had a relatively stable revenue, peaking at approximately $839K at the end of February. Weekly downloads decreased from around 646K to 358K. Active users dropped from 12M to around 9.3M throughout the quarter.

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies saw a significant increase in revenue, peaking at approximately $578K in early March. Weekly downloads surged from around 183K to 699K. Active users increased steadily from 1.3M to over 2M by the end of March.
